Dave Brubeck au Royal Festival Hall

Live à FIP vous invite à un Noël jazz, avec la diffusion le 25 décembre à 20h, d'un concert exceptionnel du pianiste donné en octobre 1992 dans la célèbre salle londonienne.

En cette fin d'année bien étrange, le monde du jazz fête le centenaire de la naissance de l'un de ses plus grands héros, Dave Brubeck. A la fin des années 50, le pianiste et compositeur innovateur redonna au jazz toute sa popularité avec l'album Time Out et ses standards Take Five, Blue Rondo à la Turk ou Three to Get Ready. L'artiste, qui nous a quittés le 5 décembre 2012, n'avait pas hésité à bouleverser, avec son fameux quartet, la rythmique traditionnelle du jazz en s'inspirant notamment des musiques folkloriques turques, grecque ou bulgares. L'ancien élève de Darius Milhaud fût le deuxième jazzman, après Louis Armstrong en 1949, à avoir les honneurs de la Une de Time Magazine. FIP s'associe à ces célébrations et vous offre avec l'UER, un cadeau de Noël aux couleurs jazz en diffusant ce concert magnifique du pianiste. Pour ce concert donné en octobre 1992 au Royal Festival Hall de Londres, Dave Brubeck était accompagné de Bill Smith à la clarinette, Jack Six à la basse et Randy Jones à la batterie. Le quartet, rejoint sur certains titres par Matthew Brubeck au violoncelle, le plus jeune fils du pianiste, a sublimé des standards tels que Three To Get Ready, Take Five, St. Louis Blues, Once When I Was Very Young, Softly, William Softly, In Your Own Sweet Way ou Out Of the Way Of the People. FIP vous souhaite de joyeuses fêtes en musique.
